Pia Diefenthal and Thomas Rüttgers look back on over 115 years of company history.
They
opened their first own hat shop with their team in September 2017.
The Diefenthal company, founded in 1905 by Pias great-grandfather Wilhelm Diefenthal, defied all adversities and kept adapting to the latest developments in the business. Even in the difficult years when the hat was not very popular, Pia's father, Gerd Diefenthal, managed to find ways and means to keep the hat 'alive'.
Today DIEFENTHAL1905 stands for a small but fine range of women's and men's hats, which recognizes fashionable trends but never loses sight of its own history. The hats are created at the Friesenwall in Cologne and produced in Europe.
Pia and Thomas run the company with great passion. If you are not interested in hats yet, you should start with a hat by DIEFENTHAL1905.

With their trained eye for quality and design Pia Diefenthal, fourth generation entrepreneur, and her partner Thomas Rüttgers, created a new brand that can not only write “Made in Europe” on the label. They also kreep an eye on tradition and sustainable processing.
